Keelakuyilkudi, a village not far from Madurai, sits quietly amidst the bustle of daily life, holding within its bounds a rich history and a deep connection to ancient Jain culture. The Samanar Hill, or Samanamalai, was the focal point of our visit, a hill that has been declared a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India. This was not just any hill—this was a living testament to a spiritual legacy that had shaped the land long before modern times.
