Thiruvedagam, Madurai district

Thiruvedagam village on the river bank of Vaigai River, located 20 km west of Madurai on the route to Solavandhan, is renowned for its stunning Shiva temple, which serves as a beacon of architectural and spiritual heritage with Traditional paddy and coconut cultivation. This village is in the trade route between dindugal to Madurai during British perios. Pandian, vijayanagarar and Rajendra Cholan period stone inscriptions are very evident in this village. An Ancient temple called Sri Edaganathar temple under many kingdoms is still alive in this village.
